Self MAED Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us and we want to make sure that you (“you(r)” or “user(s)”) understand our policies and practices. We also provide opportunities for you to choose what information you give us and options to opt out. This policy shall apply to  https://www.self.inregdev.com/ (“Site”), transactions through the Site, email communications, social media, our classes, workshops and/or retreats booked through the Site, any related applications (“apps”), and/or any other service provided by Self MAED LLC (“Self MAED” or “We”). The Site, apps, all activities described in the preceding sentence and/or any other service shall be referred to as the “Services.”

1. Acceptance of this Policy

Please read this policy in full and know that by using our Site and Services and accepting our Terms of Use you are also confirming that you have read and understand this policy including how and why we use your information. If you do not wish to have us collect or process your personal information as detailed in this policy then you should not use the Services and should immediately cease use of this Site. You also understand that we use third party services and apps, Liquid Web, LLC (“Liquid Web”), WordPress.com (“Wordpress”), Google Cloud Storage, Drop Box, Inc., WooCommerce, Stripe, Inc. (“Stripe”), and Mailchimp (collectively, “Third Party Providers”). We are not responsible for the privacy policies, content, terms, etc. of these third parties. 

You must be at least 18 years of age to use this website. We do not knowingly collect any information or advertise to minors under 13 years of age. Minors between the ages of 13-18 must only use the Services with parental control and consent. Children under age 13 are not permitted to use the Services. You are responsible for any and all account activity conducted by a minor on your account. If you are the parent or guardian of a child whom you believe has disclosed Personal Information to us, please contact us at admin@self.inregdev.com so that you may review the information submitted and have such child’s information deleted and removed from our systems.

By using the Services, you understand that Self MAED is operated in the United States. Self MAED sees and can delete the information provided by you, but does not have its own servers. The Site is hosted by Liquid Web, LLC and WordPress.com (“Wordpress”). Information is held on servers provided by Liquid Web, based in Lansing, Michigan, United States of America, and WordPress, based in San Francisco, California, United States of America.

2. Information Collected or Received

To use the Services you will need to enter, and we shall collect, a certain amount of personal information, which is detailed below. If you do not wish to transmit personal information, do not use the Services. There are also opportunities to opt out of the collection of certain information or transmissions, which you may take advantage of when available. 

Setting up an Account: You do not need to create an account to browse the Site, however, you will need to create an account through our platform to utilize certain Services. 

To create an account, you must create a username and password and complete the registration process by providing current, complete, and accurate information including your first name, last name, email address, and create a password. You may also be asked to submit your mailing address, billing address, date of birth, and phone number depending on which Services you use. We see your username, but not your password. We may also collect public information in order to connect with you. We may use that information as part of providing the Services to you. Not providing information may affect your use of the Services. You may review, update, delete and/or change your account information at any time. 

Retreat Registration: To register for a Self MAED in-person retreat, you may be asked to provide personal information in addition to that provided to set up your account, such as dietary restrictions, accessibility needs, mental health support, etc. The information requested is not required, and you may choose to not fill out any retreat information you do not wish to provide. Not providing information may affect your use of the Services. You may review, update, delete and/or change your retreat information at any time.

Payments: To send payments through the Site, you must submit personal information to set up your bank account for a Stripe, Inc. (“Stripe”) account or any other third party processor we may designate in our sole discretion from time to time. To set up this account, you may need to provide your full name, bank account number, routing number, birth date, country, and any additional information required by Stripe or any other third party payment processors. Self MAED will not see your credit card information and all information required for payments will be held by the payment processor and not by Self MAED. 

Data Storage: We may use third party cloud storage providers such as Google Cloud and Drop Box to facilitate the functionality of our Services. The manner in which your information is used, stored, and disclosed is governed solely by the policies of such third parties, and Self MAED shall have no liability or responsibility for the privacy practices or other actions of any third party site or service that may be enabled within the Service. 

Analytics: We may use third party services such as Google Analytics that collect, monitor, and analyze information to determine functionality of our Services. Currently, we use Google Analytics to collect information about the use of this Site. We use the information received from Google Analytics only to improve services on this Site. We do not combine the information collected through the use of Google Analytics with personally identifiable information.

 

Google’s ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics about your visits to this Site is restricted by the Google Privacy Policy. You may remove that here: https://policies.google.com/privacy. The manner in which your information is used, stored, and disclosed is governed solely by the policies of Google or any other third parties, and Self MAED shall have no liability or responsibility for the privacy practices or other actions of any third party site or service that may be enabled within the Service.

 

General User Info: We may receive or obtain information (for example, an email address or IP address) from a user shopping or visiting the Services but who has not created a profile account. The information collected from these “General Users” is used only for the purposes disclosed to them when it was submitted to Self MAED or in order to allow the transmission of information or actions directly authorized by the General User.

Cookies: We may use cookies on our site. Most browsers accept cookies by default. You can choose to set your browser to do otherwise. Removing cookies may affect the functionality of, and therefore your interaction with, our Services.  Liquid Web, WordPress, WooCommerce, and Mailchimp may control the cookies we use since we use their services for our Site. You are able to choose what information you provide, edit information, remove information, and change your communication elections whenever you like. If you wish to delete your account, you will need to contact us at the information provided at the end of this policy. You can only remove optional information without affecting the ability to use the Services. If you want to have your data held by us deleted please contact us. 

If you wish to have a copy of the data collected by us you may contact us via the contact information stated at the bottom of this Policy. 

We may send you communications via any of the contact information you provide us. Communications related to the functionality of the Services, transactions, or legal notices are required and you cannot opt out of them. You may opt out of non-required communications such as notifications, marketing, newsletters, emails, etc. via the “notifications” tab under “settings. You will also only receive email communications if you opt in. 

  1. Use of Information and Disclosure

As described above, we collect your information to carry out the Services. We use and share this information only for the following purposes:

  • To fulfill our obligations and provide the Services to you;
  • To perform any contractual requirements in our Terms of Use;
  • In any ways you have consented through our Site and/or Services;
  • To comply with a legal obligation, court order, subpeona, or in the defense of legal claims;

  • To third parties to the extent necessary to fulfill the Services or marketing on our behalf;

This policy only applies to information directly collected by Self MAED. Information provided to Stripe and other third parties through the Services is subject to their respective privacy policies. Furthermore, as stated above, Self MAED is not responsible for any information you transmit to other users. Self MAED is not responsible for the privacy or security practices of any of the third parties, users, or other websites on the Internet, even those linked to or from the Site. You should read the privacy policies and terms of use of all parties you transmit information to. For the purposes of European law, third parties and other users are independent controllers of data, and therefore they are solely responsible for complying with all applicable laws, regulations, and their own policies relating to personal information.  

  1. Transfers

As may be necessary, and to the extent required for the provision of the Services, personal information may be transferred to third parties outside of EU/EEA. This data is managed by Liquid Web, WordPress and WooCommerce, both of which are services provided by Automattic Inc., and Mailchimp. Please see the Liquid Web, Automattic Inc. and/or the Mailchimp privacy policies for further information.

7. Security

We take steps to keep your information safe including commercially reasonable protection measures put in place by Liquid Web, WordPress, WooCommerce, Mailchimp, and/or any other third party site or service that may be enabled within the Service. 

 

8. Retention

 

Self MAED only keeps your information for as long as necessary to carry out the Services. You, yourself, control if you want us to delete your account and the information associated with it. We will only retain information after you have indicated you no longer wish us to use the information to the extent necessary to comply with legal obligations. We do not control how long other users hold your information. Please note that closing your account may not free up your email address and username for reuse on a new account and deleting your information with us does not result in your information being deleted with any third parties.

We may update this policy from time to time. We suggest you regularly check this Policy for any such updates. We will also advise you when we make changes via the contact information you have provided us. Your continued use of the Services after such notification constitutes your consent to the updated Policy.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

f you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

How long we retain your data

f you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data
